i heart faces #29 at the beach

i have been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting on our different beach trips. we love to go the the beach, NewPort, OR is our favorite. so many memories there. we spent our honeymoon there and have returned several times.
i have gone back and forth over which picture to enter into this weeks beach theme at i heart faces, and i finally decided to use one from our last trip to NewPort. this photo is my girls at Beverly Beach in OR, just north of NewPort. it was a hazy stormy day in july 2008. we were on our way home from my grandpa's funeral. my wonderful husband stopped here and we stayed for four nights to rest and renew. he is so thoughtful, and shows his love in the most interesting ways. it was on this trip that we learned about Jam and we were asked if we wanted him. of course i said yes, and then realized i should have asked daddy-o first, but when i told him, he agreed too.
here are my beautiful girls and the love between them is wonderful to see. i think the fog makes it look like they are in a dream world, with only suggestions of reality.
i almost used one from this set for the feet theme last week. i love sandy toes... be sure to head over to i heart faces to be inspired by other beach photos and enter yours too! have a great week.
thanks for reading...

  10. Fantastic photo! I recognized that beach instantly - I lived in Newport for years, and sure understand the challenges of photographing when it's so hazy. You did a great job!

  13. GORGEOUS!!! The Oregon Coast seems to be a popular choice this week. It is so dramatic, isn't it? I think it's some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. My photo this week is from Cannon Beach, but I have to say that Newport is one of my favorite places in Oregon.

  16. ADORABLE!! they are so sweet. when i was a freshman in high school i went out to vancouver, wa to visit a friend and we went down to portland and to the beach around there somewhere. it was so cool to be at a 'real' beach. there are not any 'real' beaches in wisconsin. i'm just also checking to see if you got my email. :0) thanks.

  18. Hmmm, as I remember, we didnt spend much time in the water as the 3 year old was terrified of the waves and the baby is so little someone would have to be with him. It wasnt cold, but the surf where we were on Mustang island was rather rough while we were there due to some incoming storms. I have heard that on calmer conditions the gulf is so great because in places like Chorpus Christi it is very shallow for a long way out into the water, which is great for the kids. We discovered on our last day there, after weathering storms on the gulf beachs, that the inter-coastal waterway was actually where we should have been. They have beach camping there too but the water has no rough surf, tiny little waves if any, more from boat wake than anything else and it was extremely shallow and kid friendly. Here are my posts from that trip:

One of my best friends is from Oregon, I think I have actually been to this beach. Oregon is so beautiful, we love to visit there as much as we can.

  19. Oh, i'm so glad i found you again! Thank you for your comments on my blog. I tried getting to your blog through your profile but it said your blogs were for "invited readers only". But i knew i had seen your beach picture so i found your name on the list at I heart Faces! Wow, there's a lot of names in that list! =)
Anyway, I just wanted to answer your questions about the gluten free products. When we lived in the states i bought a variety of GF flours and mixed them. But here in Northern Ireland we can buy GF bread mixes and flours already mixed up. GF products seem to be more common here.
Sorry to cut this short but my little guy is needing his mommy so i need to go for now. I hope you'll visit again and i'll be back to visit you soon!
